Stress and anxiety make their way into my life far more than I’d like to admit. It’s been an issue I’ve dealt with almost my whole life. When I read that salt therapy is good for anxiety, I was skeptical.

Almost anything can be good for anxiety “quick-fix”. Take a quick walk? Less stressed now. See a dog? Anxiety instantly reduced.

After reading more about salt and being exposed to salt for 40 hours a week the past few months, I have been pleasantly surprised.

Dry Salt therapy can seriously help with anxiety. Why? Here are 3 different ways salt therapy helps with anxiety.

For those who are looking to ease anxiety with Dry Salt Therapy, we recommend setting your expectations properly. There are some immediate, relaxing effects you can get from a salt session. However, it may take several, consistent sessions before you can properly determine if salt therapy is helping ease your anxiety.

1. Dry Salt Therapy gives your immune system a boost.

Anxiety and stress weaken your immune system — not good news, especially if yours is the result of a health condition you have no control over.

This might not be a surprise for those who have dealt with severe or chronic anxiety. The sleeplessness, muscle tension, and fatigue that often come with anxiety can be exhausting. Your body has to work hard to help keep you calm and functioning. — The heavy toll anxiety takes effects your whole body.

The hormones that are released into your body when you are stressed weaken your immune system by borrowing resources. Your stress becomes a higher priority and your body only has a finite amount of resources to work with.

This is why Dry Salt Therapy is helpful. With it’s anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial properties, Dry Salt Therapy gives your body a thorough, gentle detox. It helps balance your body, giving your immune system less to deal with. It has a chance to catch up.

2. Salt Sessions are relaxing.

When clients leave our salt rooms they are so relaxed! It seems almost everyone leaves in a good mood, ready to finish the rest of their day. A salt session can take a serious amount of stress off your mind and your body.

Breathing salt helps heal your body and calm your mind. It helps to open your lungs to allow more oxygen to move through your body. The relaxed state you feel is probably from your body finally coming out of overdrive and finding balance.

After a salt session, your immune system has been boosted, toxins are being eliminated throughout your body, and your body is sending mood-bosting signals to your brain to celebrate.

3. Dry Salt Therapy has been known to promote healthy, restful sleep.

Sleeplessness and insomnia are all too close friends with anxiety. Just when your body needs to rest the most, it can’t seem to relax. — You must stay awake and deal with the danger (that may or may not exist).

Salt therapy will leave you feeling relaxed even after you’ve gotten up from the zero-gravity chair. The natural relaxing effects stay with you for a few hours, up to a few days. Leaving you in the perfect condition to get some quality Zs.

Is snoring keeping you (or your loved one) awake? Dry Salt Therapy might be able to help. The antiemetic and anti-inflammatory properties of salt can help open obstructed air passages.

PSA: Sleep apnea is a serious condition. If you think you are suffering from sleep apnea, consult your doctor to learn more about your condition and your options.

The salt can help open your air passages. It can also modulate the spasms of any inflamed or irritated tissues and smooth muscles.
